Owner
Rosilyn Polan left a concise message on the cell phone belonging
to her husband, Kenneth Ross, after her colt by freshman sire El
Corredor sold for $385,000 on Monday to lead the opening session
of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale of selected yearlings.

"Kenneth, 385—don't have a wreck. I love you," she said.
B. Wayne Hughes bought the colt out of the unraced Meadowlake
mare Meadow Bryte from the consignment of Polan's small Sunday
Morning Thoroughbreds operation based in Woodford County,
Kentucky.
"He's a beautiful colt, and he walked very well. He had all
the ingredients," said Seth Semkin, Hughes's racing manager."The
sire is obviously on everyone's mind right now. He might have
been my favorite horse in the whole sale. I liked him a lot. It
was a combination of his looks and how he moved. I thought he
was very graceful. Every time I saw him he acted the same way.
He never got tired and was very responsive." |
