Roman Ruler rules in Haskell Invitational

Passing a major test that sparked Breeders’ Cup talk from trainer Bob Baffert, Roman Ruler powered past Sun King with a determined stretch run to earn a 1 1/4-length win in the $1-million Haskell Invitational Handicap (G1) on Sunday at Monmouth Park.

Roman Ruler earned his second-straight graded stakes victory, taking command after rallying three wide in the far turn and winning in 1:49.88 on a fast track.
